So the rumours were true. Next time for half day/full day news, ask the canteen vendors. Our principal Mrs Chan announced that we would be given the whole day off today "to go North, South, East and West to advertise our results" or something like that. :), thanks to good 'A' Level results from our grand-seniors. I pretty much appreciated that and wanted to do some work with the spare time but ended up trying to dunk a classmate (birthday boy) into the pond, failing, then splashing water on him and then going out with some of my classmates and seniors.
We had breakfast at Takashimaya's MacDonald's. Some of them went to Wisma Atria's MacDonald's to get MacDonald's breakfast before returning... weird huh? Anyway we ate, and decided to go watch a movie. But my classmates couldn't really decide on what to watch. Some wanted to watch Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events while some wanted to watch Hitch. I went along with the Hitch group, and boy, I didn't regret it.
HITCH IS A GREAT MOVIE! It simply rocks! It was funny and interesting, yes, and everyone who was watching laughed from the beginning till the end. The jokes weren't lame and were very easy to get. Kudos to the scriptwriter who did a great job, and to the actors (Will Smith, Eva Mendes, erm... Kevin... Bacon? and so on ) for making the script alive. It's basically about Will Smith who stars as a "date-doctor", helping desperate men score dates with the women they love. Enter Alfred Brenneman, played with Kevin Bacon, who is in love with this big celebrity whom he serves as a junior accountant for. Will Smith helps him with his "problem", and at the same time, hits on a gossip columnist for a certain newspaper played by Eva Mendes. I'd probably talk about the whole movie and since I can't sumamrise, I'd say: GO WATCH IT PEEPS! :) It really is a great movie.
Those who watched Hitch later went to Far East Plaza to walk around. Saw lignerie shops, food joints, and surprisingly, quite a few stores selling Japanese-styled apparel (mostly female). Justin from our senior class wanted to "show" us this Turkish restaurant which had ice-cream, but we found out in the end (watching another couple) that it was kind of a trick, because the man (he looks Turkish) manning the ice-cream stall would pull tricks with the ice-cream and cone. He'd scoop once, hiot the bell with the scoop, then put the ball of ice-cream on the cone, offer it to you, swing it upside down and pull it away from you. :)
Michelle was pretty much forced into buying the ice-cream and all of us had a pretty good time watching her being left empty-handed as she tried to take the ice-cream from the vendor. :) His last trick before serving the thing to you would be to take two (or three) cones before scooping everything in, and offering it to you. Just as you reach out to take it, he pulls the cone out so you are left with the cone, and the ice-cream in his hand. Very very interesting fellow. It really opened my eyes... I must get out more.
Then I reached home, and am now blogging after watching Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (for the third time? :D Biggie fan :) ) and Gundam SEED DESTINY PHASE 20. :) Yay, will post PHASE-20's review shortly.
